How do I fix the issues the report found?
Press Resume Builder in the report sidebar. Your resume is rebuilt as an editable document, so you can fix the issues the report listed and export a corrected file.
Work through the fixes
- Start on Home
The Home section lists the fixes worth doing first, each with the section that holds the detail.
- Open the check
Click a check such as Spelling or Quantify Impact to see the exact lines quoted from your resume.
- Open the builder
Press Resume Builder under Extra in the sidebar. It opens your own content, not a blank template. The label reads Opening builder... while it loads.
- Edit and export
Fix the wording, then download the new PDF and re-scan it to see the score move.
Fixes that move the score most
- Add a phone number, email and the job title as plain text at the top
- Use standard headings such as Work Experience, Education and Skills
- Put a number or a result in at least half of your bullets
- Fix spelling, and replace repeated openers and vague buzzwords
- Use one date format throughout, newest role first
- Keep the content in bullets rather than paragraphs
