My scan is stuck or never finished
A scan normally finishes in seconds. If the progress screen stays put, reload the report page. If it still fails, upload the file again from the checker.
Get past a stuck scan
- Wait a few more seconds
The progress screen shows Reading your resume, Scoring it the way an ATS would and Writing up your report. It also shows the sections and word count already found.
- Reload the page
A reload picks the report up as soon as it exists. You will not be charged twice.
- Check your report list
Open your premium tools and look at Recent Work. A row marked Completed means the report is ready.
- Run it again
If the row says Failed, upload the file again from the ATS Score Checker.
If something goes wrong
"Couldn't load the analysis. Please try again."
WhyNo report exists for this resume yet, or the scan failed.
FixReload once. If it repeats, scan the file again from the checker.
"No resume selected, scan one from the Resume Scanner."
WhyYou opened the report page without a resume.
FixGo back to the ATS Score Checker and start a scan.
"Resume text is empty or invalid. Please try again with a different resume."
WhyNo readable text could be pulled out of the file.
FixUpload a text based PDF instead of a scan or a photo.
"Resume scan already in progress"
WhyThe same scan was started twice.
FixWait for the first one to finish rather than starting another.
The loader keeps cycling but nothing happens
WhyThe upload or the network dropped.
FixClose the tab, reopen the checker and upload again. Reports are not lost, they appear under Recent Work.

Usually a few seconds. Anything past a minute means something went wrong.
Can I close the tab while it scans?
Yes. The scan continues and the report appears under Recent Work when it is done.
