How do the questions and answers work?
Maya asks a question out loud, you answer out loud, and captions of both sides appear on screen. Questions come from the hirer's screening list, the job description and your resume. Keep answers to about 30 to 60 seconds.
How it behaves
- You speak
- There is no typing. Answer out loud, in English.
- Captions
- Maya's line and your line both appear on screen as text.
- Thinking
- Three dots and the word thinking mean Maya is working on a reply. Wait rather than talking over it.
- Questions
- The hirer's screening questions, plus Maya's own questions from the job description and your resume.
- Answer length
- GoodSpace's own guidance is to keep answers concise, about 30 to 60 seconds.
Things that help
- Speak in full sentences and pause when you are finished, so Maya knows your turn is over.
- If you did not catch a question, just say so and ask her to repeat it.
- Accent is not a problem. Indian, British and American English are all treated the same.
- If you want to check she can hear you, say so out loud and she will confirm.
If something goes wrong
Maya talks over you

She seems to mishear you

FixMove to a quieter room, sit closer to the mic and repeat the answer. She will not ask you to change language.

It varies with the job. The joining screen tells you how many screening questions the hirer added, and Maya asks more on top of those.
Can I answer in Hindi?
The interview is conducted in English, and Maya always replies in English.
Can I look at my notes?
The camera check watches whether you are facing the camera, and copy and paste are recorded. Treat it like a real interview and speak from memory.
