Resume Builder

The Resume Builder turns your details into a clean, single column resume that screening software can read. Building, editing, templates and AI suggestions are free. Downloading the finished PDF is the paid step.

Press Start Building on the Resume Builder page, sign in, then pick Build from scratch or Upload & Optimize. You can paste a job description or skip that step, and the editor opens.

Pick Upload & Optimize, add a PDF, DOC or DOCX file under 5 MB, and wait on the progress screen. Your details are read into the editor so you only have to correct what is wrong.

Open an example for your role and press Use this resume. The builder opens with that structure and wording already in place, and your own name and contact fields left empty for you to fill.

You can build as many resumes as you like, one per role if you want. Earlier ones are listed under Recent Work in your premium tools, and open straight back into the editor.

The left panel holds your sections. Fill them in and the page rebuilds as you type. You can drag sections into a different order, take some off the resume and add extras such as Certifications.

Press Improve with AI under a text box and the wording of that field is rewritten from what you already have. You read the suggestion and choose whether to keep it. It is free.

Fix Resume reviews the resume you have open and gives it a letter grade plus a list of issues. Quantified Impact and Wording & Readability are free. The other eight checks open when the resume is unlocked or you are on Gold.

Press Check & Tailor in the top bar, paste the whole job posting and you get a match percentage with the keywords your resume is missing. Add the ones you genuinely have and the score re-runs.

There is no save button. Changes save on their own about two seconds after you stop typing, including template, colour, font and layout choices. If a save fails you will see a message.

The bar at the bottom of the editor has Template, Colour, Font and Layout. All 24 templates are available to everyone, and switching between them keeps everything you have written.

Press Download in the top bar of the editor. If the resume is unlocked the PDF is built and opens in a new tab. It carries no watermark and no branding.

Building, editing, templates and AI help are free. Downloading the PDF needs a Resume Builder credit or Gold. Pressing Download without one opens the plan picker.

Each resume can be downloaded up to 5 times. Once you hit that, download is closed on that resume. Start a new resume, which keeps your content if you copy it across, and unlock that one.

The editor stays open after you download, so you can fix a typo. If saving is refused you will see a message asking you to download again to keep the current version.

Press Share in the top bar to create a public link to your resume. Contact details are hidden by default, and you can turn the link off whenever you want.

The PDF is built from the saved version of your resume, not from what is on your screen. A design change that had not saved yet will be missing from the file. Wait a couple of seconds, then download again.

Reading a resume can take up to about two minutes. If it fails, the page sends you back to the builder with a message. Trying again with a simpler PDF, or building from scratch, usually works.
