Getting Started
The generator reads your resume and the job you paste in, then writes a one page cover letter you can edit. Writing, editing and AI rewrites are free. Downloading the PDF is the paid step.
How do I create a cover letter?Most askedPress Generate Cover Letter, sign in, choose a resume, add the job details, then pick a template and press Generate Cover Letter again. The editor opens with your draft.
Do I have to paste a job description?No, the step has a Skip button. But the job description is what makes the letter specific to the role, so pasting the real posting is strongly worth the extra minute.
Which cover letter templates and colours can I use?There are 6 templates: Multi-Column, Modern, Stylish, Basic, Minimal and Compact, in 6 colours and three text sizes. All are free, and you can switch at any time from the bar at the bottom of the editor.
Editing Your Letter
The editor has Personal Info, Employer Details and Letter Details. Change anything you like and the page on the right updates as you type. The body holds up to 3000 characters.
How do I regenerate or rewrite my cover letter?Press Rewrite with AI under the letter body. It rewrites what is currently there to read more professionally. It is free and you can run it more than once.
Does my cover letter save automatically?There is no save button. Your changes save on their own about two seconds after you stop typing, and the letter stays on your account so you can open it again later.
Why is there a watermark and why can't I copy the text?PaidUntil the letter is unlocked, the preview shows a watermark and copying from the page is blocked. Unlock it and the downloaded PDF is clean, with no watermark and no branding.
Downloading
Press Download PDF under the preview. It takes a few seconds to build and opens in a new tab. The file is a clean PDF with no watermark.
Why is my cover letter download locked?PaidWriting, editing and AI rewrites are free. Downloading the PDF needs a Cover Letter credit or Gold. Pressing Download PDF without one opens the plan picker.
Your Letters
Downloading finalises the letter. A banner reads Cover Letter Finalized and the fields become read only. You can still download it again, and you can generate a new letter to make changes.
Where do I find my earlier cover letters?Open premium tools and scroll to Recent Work. Filter to Cover Letter and press View or Edit on the letter you want. It opens back in the editor.
