Feed and chat

The feed is the member timeline on GoodSpace. A preview sits on your dashboard and the full feed is at /member/feed, with four tabs: For you, Following, Openings and Saved.

Open the feed and select the composer at the top. You can post up to 5000 characters, add up to 4 images or a video, or run a poll, and tag the post so the right people see it.

Check your own profile first, since a post that is there for you but not in the feed has usually been hidden after reports. A post refused as an exact repeat of one you made in the last day will not post at all.

Open the menu on your own post and select Delete post, then confirm. Deleting cannot be undone. Posts by other people can only be muted or reported, not deleted.

Love shows appreciation and is counted publicly. Comment replies in a thread under the post. Reshare copies it to your own feed and tells the author. Save keeps it in your Saved tab, privately.

Follow is one sided and instant, and puts that person's posts in your Following tab. Connect is mutual and has to be accepted, and is what a recruiter and a candidate mean by having actually spoken.

Open the post menu and choose Not interested to see fewer posts like it, or Mute to stop seeing that author. Muting is quiet, and the other person is not told.

Open the post menu, select Report post, pick a reason and submit. Reports go to the moderation team. A post reported by three different people is hidden from the feed straight away, while it is reviewed.

On hold means your post was hidden after reports and is being reviewed. Removed means it stays down. Restored means it is back. In every case GoodSpace emails you and says why.

Each action has a short burst limit and a daily limit. The warning message names the action, the ceiling and when it lifts. Gold raises the daily limit for posting, commenting, reacting and following.

Yes. Each post has its own page, and Copy link in the post menu gives you that address. Anyone with the link can read the post and its comments, even without a GoodSpace account.

Your inbox is at /chat. Conversations open when a hirer reaches out, when your application moves forward, or when a pitch is accepted. You cannot start a chat with any member you like.

Check whether the chat shows a block notice, a GCoins message or no message box at all. Each one explains itself in the conversation, and the fix is different for each.
