Notifications and emails

The bell in the top bar shows your unread count and the 10 newest notifications. Select View all to open the full list at /notifications, which loads older ones as you scroll.

As a job seeker you get job alerts, interview invites, messages and offers from hirers, application updates, feed activity on your posts, and reminders to finish your profile. Tapping a row opens the thing it is about.

Opening the bell does not clear anything by itself. A row is marked read when you select it, and the rest are marked read when you close the panel. Opening the full notifications page marks that page read.

This message means the request for your notifications failed, almost always a connection problem. Select Try again. If the page stays empty, reload and make sure you are still signed in.

A short two note chime plays in an open GoodSpace tab when your unread count goes up. There is no setting for it on GoodSpace, so mute the tab in your browser if you do not want it.

Open Notifications and select Turn on in the Browser notifications card, then choose Allow in your browser's prompt. You can also turn it on from the banner at the top of the bell panel.

Once you choose Block, the site can never ask again. You have to allow notifications for goodspace.ai in your browser's own site settings, then reload the page.

Open Notifications and select Turn off in the Browser notifications card. That stops notifications reaching this browser while GoodSpace is closed. The bell and your emails are not affected.

The card only appears where the browser can actually show notifications. It is hidden on browsers without support, for example Safari on iPhone when GoodSpace has not been added to the Home Screen.

GoodSpace emails fall into two groups. Essential ones cover your account, applications, interviews, purchases and security. Promotional ones cover job alerts, tips, offers and reminders, and you can unsubscribe from those.

Scroll to the bottom of any promotional GoodSpace email and select the unsubscribe link. It works in one tap, with no login. Essential account, application and purchase emails keep arriving.

Check the spam or promotions folder first, then confirm the email address on your profile is correct and spelled right. If you unsubscribed earlier, promotional emails like job alerts will no longer arrive.

Use the unsubscribe link in any promotional email to stop job alerts and offers, turn browser notifications off on the notifications page, and mute the tab if the chime bothers you. Essential emails cannot be switched off.

Your phone is used for the sign in code, which can also be sent on WhatsApp if the SMS does not arrive. Gold members get a WhatsApp support number and a Gold community group. There is no on site switch for phone messages.
