Why does GoodSpace play a sound, and can I stop it?
A short two note chime plays in an open GoodSpace tab when your unread count goes up. There is no setting for it on GoodSpace, so mute the tab in your browser if you do not want it.
How the chime works

- Only when your unread count rises while a GoodSpace tab is open

- About a third of a second, two soft notes
- Many tabs open
- It plays once, not once per tab
- Before you click anything
- It is skipped, because browsers block sound until you interact with the page
Turn the sound off
- Mute the tab
On a desktop browser, right click the GoodSpace tab and choose Mute site or Mute tab.
This is a browser setting, so it stays muted for that site.
- Or mute your device
On a phone, the usual volume or silent controls apply.
If something goes wrong
No sound at all
WhyYou have not clicked anywhere on the page yet in this visit, or the tab is muted.
FixClick once on the page. Browsers refuse to play sound until you have interacted with the tab.
The sound plays but nothing appears in the bell
WhyThe count rose before the list refreshed.
FixOpen the bell. The new row will be there.
