Couldn't reach Lumi, and other Lumi errors
Select Try again on the error. A connection error means Lumi could not be reached at all, a timeout means the answer took too long, and a failure means something broke while writing the answer.
What each message means
| Message | What happened | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Couldn't reach Lumi. | The connection to Lumi is down | Select Try again, then reload the page |
| That one took too long and timed out before I could answer. | The answer did not finish in time | Select Try again, and shorten a very long question |
| Something went wrong on my end and I couldn't answer that. | The answer failed while being written | Select Try again. If it repeats, start a new chat |
If Try again does not help
- Reload the page
This reopens the connection from scratch.
- Check your connection
Lumi needs a live connection to stream the answer, so a weak network shows up here first.
- Turn off a strict blocker
An ad blocker or a corporate network can block the live connection Lumi uses. Try another network or another browser.
- Start a new chat
A very long chat is more likely to fail. See the chat length limit.
- Sign in again
If your session expired, sign in from the top bar. See Account and login.

Does a failed answer use one of my 8 free requests?
The counter in the chat goes up when you send, not when the answer succeeds. Reloading the page gives you a clean chat to try again in.
Lumi typed halfway and stopped.
The connection dropped mid answer. Select Try again and ask the same question.
