GoodSpace Hire360 is an FMCG recruitment agency for consumer, food and agri companies in India, recruiting for key account, area sales and regional sales roles alongside plant, general management and marketing hires. FMCG recruitment across sales, distribution and plant leadership

Consumer and food businesses brief us for permanent key account, field sales and management hires as well as plant roles. The product category and channel determine which experience is relevant.

  • For sales, name the territory, distributors or retail accounts and the channel mix.
  • For plant leadership, describe the site, product and team responsibilities.

FMCG roles we recruit for

Titles that FMCG, food and agri companies have briefed us on. Sales roles are the biggest group, with plant, general management, marketing and design roles alongside.

Sales and key accounts

  • Key Account Manager
  • Area Sales Manager
  • Regional Sales Manager

We look for people who have owned a named territory or named accounts in your channel and can explain how they grew distribution or offtake, not just the target they carried.

Plant and general management

  • Production Manager
  • General Manager

For plant roles we check the product lines and food safety standards the person has worked under, and for general managers, real ownership of a unit, a region or a profit and loss account.

Marketing and design

  • Graphic Designer

Designers for consumer brands should show pack design, shelf and trade material as well as digital work, so recruiters review the portfolio and not only the CV.

What makes FMCG hiring hard

Channel experience rarely transfers

A sales manager who built general trade through distributors and beat plans is a different hire from a key account manager who negotiates listings and margins with modern trade chains, and both differ from someone running quick commerce accounts. CVs blur these lines, and a channel mismatch shows only once the numbers fail to move.

How we handle it: Your brief records the channel mix the person will own. AI helps assess applications against it, and recruiters review profiles and check which accounts or distributors the candidate handled personally before adding them to your shortlist.

Territory decides whether a field hire works

Area and regional sales roles are tied to a map. A strong candidate from another state may not know the distributors, retailers or language of the territory, and field hires who relocate often struggle to rebuild a network. Headquarter towns outside the metros narrow the pool of experienced people further.

How we handle it: We ask for the headquarter town and the districts or states the role covers, and the search starts with people already working that belt. The territory is part of the brief recruiters use to assess fit.

Plant roles come with a location and a rulebook

Production managers are hired where the factory is, often an industrial town, so the pool is narrower and a family move weighs on every offer. Food and agri plants add food safety, hygiene and audit standards to the usual output and shift targets, and people from non-food lines may not have worked under them.

How we handle it: Your CSM confirms the plant location, product line and required standards before the role goes live. Recruiters look first at people in comparable plants nearby and state the location plainly to anyone who would need to move.

What we ask for in an FMCG brief

An FMCG brief that names the channel, territory and category gives recruiters concrete criteria for assessing fit. We ask for these alongside the usual job details.

  • Channel mixGeneral trade, modern trade, e-commerce and quick commerce, or institutional sales, and which of these the person will own.
  • Territory and distributorsHeadquarter town, the districts or states covered, and the number of distributors and field staff the person will manage.
  • CategoryPackaged food, beverages, personal care, home care, dairy or agri inputs, and whether same-category experience is essential.
  • Targets and reporting linePrimary and secondary sales or plant output targets, the reporting line, and how performance will be judged.
  • Plant detailsFor plant roles: location, product line, shift pattern and the food safety or quality certifications the role answers for.

Where we recruit for FMCG roles

Field sales roles are often based in a headquarter town and cover a district or a state, so we search by territory as well as by city. Plant roles are searched around the factory location.

  • Bengaluru
  • Delhi NCR
  • Mumbai
  • Hyderabad
  • Pan-India field roles

FMCG and consumer goods hiring: common questions

Hire360 works on a success fee, paid when your hire joins. There is no platform fee and no retainer, and any replacement terms are set out in your agreement. For FMCG teams briefing field sales roles across territories, that means you pay for the people who start, not for the searches. Your CSM takes you through the agreement before your role goes live.

Sales is the biggest share of the FMCG, food and agri briefs we take on: key account managers, area sales managers and regional sales managers. We also recruit production managers, general managers, marketing and design roles such as graphic designers, and finance and founder's office roles. If you need a consumer goods recruitment agency for a particular channel, say whether the role owns general trade, modern trade or online sales, and the search is built around it.

Bengaluru has the most FMCG roles we have worked on, followed by Delhi NCR, Mumbai and Hyderabad. Some briefs cover a state rather than a single city. Field sales jobs usually sit in a headquarter town rather than a metro, and plant roles sit wherever the factory is. Name the territory in your brief and we look first at people already selling in it.

Shortlist timing depends on the brief and the available talent pool. Before go-live, your CSM reviews the brief with you, including channel, territory and category. AI helps assess applications against your brief, recruiters review profiles and hand-pick the shortlist, and it appears in your GoodSpace dashboard. You interview and decide, and we stay with the role until your hire joins.

Yes. About 1 in 8 of the roles we take on are Head, Director, VP or CXO level. General manager is among the titles FMCG and food companies have briefed us on. For senior roles the recruiter searches well beyond the people who apply, and agrees with you how the role is described to the market, which matters when the current regional or business head is still in the seat. It is the brief you might otherwise give FMCG headhunters, with no retainer.

Choose a team that asks about your channel mix, territory, distributor set-up and category before it sends profiles, because in FMCG those decide fit more than titles do. Ask whether recruiters verify the accounts and distributors each candidate actually ran, not only the targets on the CV. Whichever FMCG recruitment consultants you use, ask why each person made the shortlist. With Hire360, recruiters review candidates with AI assistance and hand-pick your shortlist.
