Architecture recruitment agency for design and interiors firms

GoodSpace is an architecture recruitment agency for practices, design studios and interiors firms that need architects, interior designers, project coordinators and the business development people who bring in work. Recruitment for architecture and interior design studios

Design practices and interiors firms can brief us for architects, interior designers, project coordinators and business development hires. Define the work the person will own, not only the title.

  • Share project types, software, deliverables and the portfolio evidence you need.
  • Say whether the role leads design, coordinates delivery or wins client work, and whether a design test is required.

Roles we recruit for in architecture and interiors

These titles come from real briefs at architecture, engineering design and interiors firms. Each search runs against the firm's own projects, software and portfolio bar.

Architecture and interior design

  • Architect
  • Senior Architect
  • Interior Designer

We look at the stages a candidate has carried, from concept and design development to working drawings and site coordination, and at how much of their portfolio is built work.

Projects and purchase

  • Project Coordinator
  • Purchase Manager

We check how candidates have kept design projects moving: tracking drawing issues and approvals, and raising purchase orders against a BOQ with joinery, finishes and furniture vendors.

Business development and sales

  • Business Development Manager
  • Sales Head

We look for people who have sold design or fit-out services, or products that architects specify, and who can talk a client through drawings, materials and costs.

What makes hiring hard in architecture and interiors

Titles say little about the work

The title Architect covers both a recent graduate drafting in a large office and someone who has led a hospitality project through tender and site. CVs rarely show which stages a person owned, and portfolios mix individual and team work, so firms interview people who are not ready for the role.

How we handle it: Your brief sets out the stages and project types the hire must own, and AI helps assess applications against it. Recruiters review profiles, hand-pick the shortlist and ask candidates which portfolio work was their own.

Software and workflow fit

A practice moving to BIM needs people who model in Revit, not only draft in AutoCAD. An interiors studio may care more about SketchUp, rendering and joinery detailing. Firms that hire interior designers or architects on a generic brief get profiles that look right but cannot work in their files and standards.

How we handle it: We ask for the tools, file standards and deliverables you expect before the role goes live. AI helps assess applications against them, and recruiters ask candidates to show hands-on use in their work samples and in conversation.

Selling design is a specialist sale

Design and turnkey interiors firms win work through consultative conversations with homeowners, corporates and developers, many of them introduced by architects or past clients. Architecture firm hiring for business development often defaults to general sales profiles, who struggle to discuss a layout, a material or a BOQ and lose the client's confidence.

How we handle it: We ask who you sell to, the projects you pitch for and how enquiries reach you. Recruiters look for people who have sold design, fit-out or building products to the same buyers, and AI helps assess applications against those criteria.

What we ask design firms to include in the brief

Your client success manager (CSM) asks for these before the role goes live. They shape both the AI scoring and the questions recruiters put to candidates.

  • Software and BIMThe tools the hire must use fluently (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, rendering software) and whether BIM modelling or coordination is part of the role.
  • Project types and stagesResidential, workplace, hospitality, retail or institutional work, whether you also execute, and the stages the hire will own, from concept to site.
  • Portfolio expectationsWhat the shortlist should show: built work or competition entries, renders or construction drawings, and whether you set a design test.
  • Registration and qualificationsWhether the role needs Council of Architecture registration, a B.Arch or M.Arch, or an interior design qualification.

How a Hire360 search runs

Recruiters run the search with AI-assisted assessment. One client success manager owns your role from brief to joining day.

  1. Step 1 · You and your client success manager

    Brief

A call about the role, then a short questionnaire on budget, notice period, location, target companies and urgency.

  2. Step 2 · GoodSpace

    Review and go-live

We review every brief before we accept it, and we say so when a role is not a fit for us.

  3. Step 3 · Recruiters

    Sourcing

Your role opens to candidates on GoodSpace, and our recruiters search for people who match the brief.

  4. Step 4 · AI and recruiters

    Scoring and shortlisting

AI-assisted assessment supports recruiter review. Recruiters evaluate applications against your brief and hand-pick the shortlist.

  5. Step 5 · You

    Interviews

Your client success manager shares each shortlist, collects your feedback and coordinates interview slots.

  6. Step 6 · Your client success manager

    Offer and joining

We help you close the offer and stay in touch with your candidate until their first day.

Where we recruit for architecture and interiors

Mumbai leads our architecture and interiors briefs, with Bengaluru and Delhi NCR next, then Pune. Studios and firms in other Indian cities brief us the same way.

Architecture and interior design hiring: common questions

We charge a success fee, paid when your hire joins. There is no platform fee and no retainer. Any replacement terms are set out in your agreement. Before the role goes live, your client success manager agrees the brief with you, including the software, the portfolio bar and any design test, so the shortlist is judged against the work your studio actually does.

Briefs we have worked on include Architect, Senior Architect, Interior Designer, Project Coordinator, Purchase Manager, Business Development Manager and Sales Head. Whether you need to hire architects for a BIM-led practice or a designer for a turnkey interiors firm, the search is built around your software, project types and the stages the person will own.

Mumbai sends us more architecture and interiors briefs than any other city, followed by Bengaluru, Delhi NCR and Pune. We recruit across India, so a practice in another city can brief us the same way. Tell us which project sites the hire will visit, so recruiters can raise travel and relocation with candidates early.

Once your client success manager has reviewed the brief, the role goes live and recruiters start sourcing from studios and firms doing comparable work. AI helps assess applications against your brief, and recruiters review profiles and hand-pick the shortlist in your GoodSpace dashboard. Shortlist timing depends on the brief and the available talent pool. A narrow portfolio bar, a specific BIM requirement or a design test can lengthen the search.

Yes. About 1 in 8 of the roles we take on are Head, Director, VP or CXO level. That figure covers every sector we work in, not design firms alone. Senior briefs from architecture and interiors firms have included Senior Architect and Sales Head roles. For a design lead, the brief should say whether the person will run projects, a studio team or client relationships, because each calls for a different track record.

Yes. Interiors firms sit in the same practice area as architecture firms, whether they only design or also execute fit-outs for homes, offices and stores. Across this practice area, briefs have included interior designers, project coordinators, purchase managers and business development managers. For an execution-led firm, add site supervision, vendor management and BOQ work to the brief, so recruiters screen for people who have handled them.
