How do I start a mock interview?
Open AI Mock Interview, sign in, pick or upload a resume, fill in the job role and job description, then select Continue and Start Interview on the instructions screen.
Start a session
- Open the tool
Go to AI Mock Interview and select Start Interview.
- Sign in
If you are signed out, the login screen opens first. You continue where you left off after signing in.
- Choose a resume
Pick one of your recent resumes or upload a new one. You are asked every time, so you can practise different roles with different resumes.
PDF, DOC or DOCX, under 5 MB.
- Fill in the job details
What is your Job Role? and Job Description are required. Company and work environment are optional. Then select Continue.
- Read **Before You Begin**
This screen lists the ground rules. Select Start Interview to go into the session, or Go Back to change your details.
- Allow the microphone and camera
Your browser asks once for both. Allow them, and the interview starts on its own as soon as the microphone is live.
If something goes wrong
"Please select a job role"
WhyThe job role field is empty.
FixPick a role from the dropdown or type your own and select it, then submit again.
"Failed to create interview session. Please try again."
WhyThe session could not be created, usually a dropped connection.
FixCheck your internet and select Continue again. If it keeps failing, reload the page and set the interview up again.
"Session not found. Please try again."
WhyThe page lost the session, for example after the tab sat idle for a long time.
FixGo back to AI Mock Interview and start again.

Can I start from a job I applied to?
Yes. When you open the practice from a job, the role and the job description are filled in for you. You can still edit both.
Can I change the role after starting?
No. Role and job description are fixed once the session is created. Go back to the tool and set up a new session instead.
