What gets filled in from my resume, and how do I fix it?
Your name, summary, skills, job titles, work history, education, years of experience, location and links are read from the file. Anything read wrongly can be corrected on the matching profile card.
What is read from your resume
- Your name
- Your summary or objective, into About
- Your skills, into Key skills
- Your job titles and your current role
- Each job, into Employment, with company, dates and description
- Each qualification, into Education
- Your total years of experience and your highest qualification
- Your city
- Social and portfolio links found in the file
- Projects and awards, added a little later in the background
Fix anything read wrongly
- Open the card that holds it
A wrong company goes in Employment, a wrong summary in About, a wrong skill in Key skills.
- Edit or delete the entry
Use the pencil to correct it, or delete an entry that is not yours at all.
Your edits stay. They are only rewritten if you upload a new resume.
- Check everything once
Scroll the whole profile after a first upload. Dates and company names are the two most common things to need a touch up.
If something goes wrong
"One last thing" asking for your name and email
WhyThe resume was read, but a name or an email could not be found in it.
FixType them into the box and select Continue. Nothing is lost, the rest of the parse is already saved.
The loading screen sat on the same step for a long time
WhyA long or heavy file takes longer to read.
FixGive it a moment. If it does not finish, close the box and upload the file again.
"An error occurred while parsing the resume."
FixUpload the file again. If it keeps failing, export a fresh PDF and try that one.
Half my jobs are missing
WhyUnusual layouts, tables and two column designs are harder to read.
FixAdd the missing entries by hand on the Employment card, or re-upload a simpler single column version.

It can. A new file is read fresh and rewrites the sections it fills, so recheck anything you edited by hand.
