Browser Extension Privacy Policy

Introduction

This policy describes how the Goodspace Chrome extension (the "Extension"), published by GOODSPACE.AI PRIVATE LIMITED ("Goodspace"), handles your data. It supplements our Privacy Policy, which continues to apply to your Goodspace account and to www.goodspace.ai. Where this policy and the main Privacy Policy differ, this policy governs the Extension.

The Extension has a single purpose: to help you find, track and apply to jobs, with a resume and answers suited to the specific job you are looking at. Everything below follows from that purpose.


When the Extension sends data

On a job page the Extension watches the page while you use it, so that it can notice when you submit an application and offer to log it, and so that it can remember which resume you attached. That watching happens on your device, and it pauses whenever the tab is not the one you are looking at.

Automatically, for the match score: when you are signed in, you have agreed to the Extension's data notice, and you view a job posting on a supported site, the posting text and a hash of the posting's web address are sent to Goodspace automatically, so that the match score shown in the panel can be worked out. The address itself is not sent for this, only its hash.

When you press or send: Track, Score, Tailor and Sync send data when you press them, a Lumi message is sent when you send it, and the tracking prompt sends the application only when you press Yes. Fill sends the questions on an application form when you press it. Autopilot company forms, described below, run only once you start them on goodspace.ai.

The Extension does not track you across websites outside the supported sites, and it contains no analytics or advertising code of any kind.


What the Extension accesses

  1. Job posting content. The posting shown on a supported job page, being its title, company, location, salary text where present, the job description, and the page address. When you are signed in and have agreed to the Extension's data notice, the posting text and a hash of the address are sent to Goodspace automatically to compute the match score. When you press Track, Score or Tailor, the posting is sent to Goodspace so the job can be saved to your tracker, scored in detail, or used to tailor your resume.
  2. What you type to Lumi, and the posting you are looking at when you do. Lumi is the career assistant in the Extension's side panel. It is off until you open it and send a message. When you do, your message is sent to Goodspace so Lumi can answer, and it is stored as part of that conversation so the thread is there when you come back. If a job posting is open at that moment, the posting already described above is sent with the message as context, so "am I a fit for this?" means the job in front of you. Lumi replies are generated by an AI model operated for Goodspace; the posting text is treated as data to read, never as instructions to follow. You can delete a conversation, and the Extension never opens a chat on its own.
  3. Your LinkedIn profile. When you press Sync or Score on your own LinkedIn profile, the Extension reads that profile, being your name, headline, about section, location, work experience, education, skills, projects, certifications, recommendations count and profile photo presence. This is sent to Goodspace so your profile can be scored against current job demand, and so that the parts you approve can be copied into your Goodspace profile.
  4. Company application forms, when you press Fill or use Autopilot. The questions and choices on an application form you press Fill on, or on the forms you chose in Autopilot, as described in the section below.
  5. Your Goodspace session. If you are already signed in to goodspace.ai in another browser tab, the Extension reads your Goodspace session token from that tab so you are not asked to sign in a second time. This is read only from goodspace.ai, which is our own website, and never from any other site.
  6. Your application activity. The jobs you choose to track, the status you set on each application, which of your resumes you selected, and the status of each Autopilot form, so your job board stays in step across your devices.
  7. The resume you applied with. While you are filling in an apply form, the Extension notes the name and upload date of the resume you selected, and keeps a copy of the file if you attached one. It has to be read at that moment, because the job site closes the form and the information is gone by the time you answer the tracking prompt. This is held on your own device, and it is sent to Goodspace only if you then choose to log that application.

The Extension does not access your passwords, your email, your messages on other services, your financial or payment information, or your health information. It does not use the browser geolocation service and does not read your device location.


Company application forms

The Extension can fill a company's own application form for you, either when you press Fill on a form on a supported site, or for the companies you choose in Autopilot. Answers that come from your Goodspace profile and answer bank are filled in directly; answers to new questions are drafted and shown to you to check before anything is filled. Autopilot works as follows:

  1. You start it. Autopilot runs only when you start it on goodspace.ai and choose the companies to apply to.
  2. Your agreement first. Before the first form is filled, the Extension asks once for your agreement.
  3. Background tabs, three at most. The Extension opens the chosen companies' application forms in background tabs, at most three at a time, and closes them when it is done.
  4. Reading the form. It reads each form's questions and choices and sends them to Goodspace, which works out the answers from your Goodspace profile and your answer bank.
  5. Filling the form. It fills those answers in, and attaches your resume, on that company's form.
  6. What it never does. It never types passwords, never solves captchas, and never fills disability or veteran self-identification answers. Those are left for you.
  7. You submit. An Autopilot form is submitted only after you review it and press Confirm and submit. A form you fill with Fill is never submitted by the Extension; you check it and submit it yourself with the site's own button.
  8. Status and review. The status of each form, and your review of it, are sent to your Goodspace account so you can follow progress there.

The answers and the resume you submit go to the company you are applying to, as part of your application to that company. From then on that company's own privacy policy governs how it handles your application.


Which websites the Extension runs on

The Extension runs only on the websites named in its Chrome Web Store listing. Those are LinkedIn, the job boards it supports, the applicant tracking systems companies host their careers pages and application forms on, the careers websites of a number of large employers, and goodspace.ai. It is not permitted to run anywhere else, and on any other website it is not loaded at all.

On a page it does run on, the Extension checks whether that page declares itself to be a job posting, using the open schema.org JobPosting standard that job pages publish for search engines, or whether it is an application form you opened through Autopilot. If neither, it goes no further: it shows nothing, reads nothing else, and stores and sends nothing.


Data categories collected

  1. Personal information: your name, email address, phone number, city, address and resume, as held in your Goodspace profile and used to fill application forms and tailor resumes. Your city or address is taken from your profile where a form asks for it; no device geolocation is collected.
  2. Authentication information: your Goodspace session token.
  3. Website content: the job posting you have open, with a hash of its address for the match score, and the questions and choices on application forms.
  4. User activity: the status of your tracked applications and of each Autopilot form, and the messages you send to Lumi.

The Extension does not collect your browsing history. It reads only the job page or application form you have open on a supported site.


How we use what we collect

  1. to save jobs to your tracker and keep their status up to date;
  2. to score how well your resume matches a specific job posting, and to show you which skills that posting asks for that your resume does not evidence;
  3. to generate a resume tailored to a specific job posting, which you can review and download;
  4. to score your LinkedIn profile against current job demand, and to copy into your Goodspace profile only the parts you approve on the preview screen;
  5. to fill company application forms you chose through Autopilot, for you to review and submit;
  6. to answer your messages to Lumi;
  7. to keep you signed in to your own Goodspace account.

We do not use this information for advertising or marketing. We do not use it to build a profile of your browsing. We do not sell it.


Where your data goes

Goodspace: the Extension communicates with two of our own servers: the Goodspace application programming interface at api.goodspace.ai, and, only once you open Lumi and send a message, our assistant service at agents.goodspace.ai. The second is reached over an encrypted connection that stays open while the panel is open, because a reply is written to you a few words at a time rather than all at once. The Extension contains no third party analytics, advertising, tracking or error reporting service, and it loads no code from the internet. All of its code is contained in the package published on the Chrome Web Store.

The companies you apply to: the answers and resume filled into a company's application form go to that company when you submit the form, with Confirm and submit in Autopilot or the site's own button, as part of your application.

Service providers: Goodspace uses Amazon Web Services for hosting and for the artificial intelligence processing that produces match scores, tailored resumes, form answers and Lumi replies. Job posting text, form questions and profile information may be processed by Amazon Bedrock on our instructions and on our behalf, under contractual confidentiality and security obligations. These providers act as processors for Goodspace. They are not permitted to use your information for their own purposes, and we do not permit your content to be used to train general purpose artificial intelligence models.

No sale or onward transfer: we do not sell or transfer your data to third parties, other than to the service providers described above, to the companies you apply to, where you have directed us to, where required to comply with applicable law, or in connection with a merger or acquisition as described in our main Privacy Policy.


Limited Use

Goodspace's use and transfer of information received through the Extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use this data only to provide the features described above. We do not sell it, we do not use or transfer it for advertising, personalised or otherwise, or to data brokers, and we do not use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending. We do not allow humans to read this data unless you give consent, it is needed for security or to comply with law, or it is aggregated and anonymised.


What is stored on your own device

The Extension keeps the following in your browser's local extension storage, on your own computer:
  1. your Goodspace session token, so you stay signed in;
  2. your agreement to the Extension's data notice;
  3. match results for job postings you viewed, kept for up to 30 minutes so the panel and the page show the same score;
  4. the jobs you have tracked and their application statuses;
  5. the resume you selected as your master resume;
  6. your most recent tailored resume result;
  7. the most recent reading of your profile, so that moving between the panel's tabs does not re-read the page;
  8. the Autopilot form queue, being the forms in progress and their status, each finished entry kept for up to 24 hours;
  9. the panel's open state, the tab last open in it, and the on-screen position of the Extension's floating button.

This information stays on your device. Removing the Extension from your browser deletes all of it.


Permissions the Extension requests, and why

  1. Storage: to keep the items listed above on your own device, including the Autopilot form queue for up to 24 hours.
  2. Scripting: to read your Goodspace session token from an open goodspace.ai tab so you are not asked to sign in twice, and to run the form filler in the company application form tabs Autopilot opened.
  3. Tabs: to find an already open goodspace.ai tab for the sign in above, to open the Goodspace sign in page when you ask, to let the toolbar button open the panel in the tab you are viewing, and to open, update and close the application form tabs that Autopilot opened. It is not used to read your browsing history or your list of open tabs.
  4. Side panel: to show the Extension's panel, including Lumi, in the browser's side panel.
  5. Access to websites (host permissions): to reach our own servers at api.goodspace.ai and agents.goodspace.ai, to read your session on goodspace.ai, to read a job posting, your LinkedIn profile or an Autopilot application form on the supported sites, and to display the Extension's own panel on the page. The panel is drawn inside an isolated shadow root so that the Extension and the website cannot affect each other's appearance or behaviour.

Your control and your choices

Nothing is written without your approval. Before anything is copied from LinkedIn into your Goodspace profile, the Extension shows you a preview of exactly what would change, field by field. Nothing is saved unless you approve that preview. No Autopilot form is submitted until you press Confirm and submit.

Signing out: you can sign out from within the Extension at any time, which removes the stored session token from your device. When you are signed out, no job posting is sent for the match score.

Uninstalling: removing the Extension from your browser deletes everything it stored locally. Data already saved to your Goodspace account remains in your account, and is governed by our main Privacy Policy.


Retention and deletion

Information sent to Goodspace through the Extension is retained for as long as your account is active, or for as long as is needed to provide the service, after which it is deleted or anonymised in accordance with the retention section of our main Privacy Policy, unless a longer period is required by applicable law. On your device, finished Autopilot queue entries are kept for up to 24 hours.

You can delete tracked jobs and applications, and Lumi conversations, from your Goodspace account. You may also delete your Goodspace account, which removes the associated personal information in accordance with our main Privacy Policy and applicable law, or ask us to delete your data through goodspace.ai/contact-us. Applications already submitted to a company are held by that company, under its own policy.


Children

The Extension is not directed at children, and is intended for use by job seekers who are of working age under applicable law.


Security

Communication between the Extension and Goodspace takes place over encrypted connections. We maintain reasonable technical and organisational safeguards as described in the Confidentiality and Security section of our main Privacy Policy. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.


Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Extension changes. Where a change materially affects how your information is handled, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you within the product. Continued use of the Extension after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
