Peyush Bansal

Advisor, GoodSpace AI · Founder & CEO, Lenskart

Peyush Bansal is a strategic advisor to GoodSpace AI. He is best known as the Founder & CEO of Lenskart, India's leading eyewear brand, and as a judge on Shark Tank India.

From Microsoft to Lenskart

Born on 26 April 1985 in New Delhi, Peyush studied Electrical Engineering at McGill University and later completed the Management Programme for Entrepreneurs and Family Businesses at IIM Bangalore. He began his career at Microsoft in the United States before returning to India to build companies.

He co-founded Lenskart in 2010, betting that India's eyewear market needed a vertically-integrated, technology-first operator rather than another retailer. Over the next decade Lenskart built its own supply chain, manufacturing, and 2,500+ store omnichannel footprint — and grew into India's most valuable consumer-tech company.

The IPO and what came after

Lenskart Solutions listed on the BSE and NSE on 10 November 2025 at an IPO price of ₹402, valuing the company at ~₹70,000 crore (≈ $8 billion). Peyush personally raised over ₹823 crore in the offer-for-sale portion of the IPO. The May 2026 lock-in expiry then triggered one of the largest block deals in Indian IPO history — roughly ₹5,300 crore worth of shares changing hands in a single session.

He retains an active founder role at Lenskart and continues to focus on the next chapter: international expansion, deeper vertical integration, and embedding AI across the customer experience.

Shark Tank India & angel investing

Peyush is a returning judge on Shark Tank India, including Season 5, which premiered on 5 January 2026 on Sony Entertainment Television and SonyLIV. Across the seasons he has become one of India's most-watched investors, backing dozens of early-stage consumer, D2C and technology startups.

His investment philosophy is consistent: sustainable unit economics, obsession with the customer, and patient institution-building rather than valuation chasing. He has been vocal about the difference between “a company” and “an institution”, and that bias shapes how he advises founders.

His role at GoodSpace

As strategic advisor to GoodSpace, Peyush brings hard-won operating experience: scaling a consumer brand from zero to public-market scale, building reliable supply chains, navigating omnichannel growth, and recruiting at the kind of speed and rigour India's next generation of category leaders will need.

For GoodSpace specifically — which is building the AI layer for modern recruiting — Peyush's perspective helps with two decisions in particular: where to spend on trust and reliability versus growth, and how to keep a fast-moving product team aligned with enterprise-grade customer expectations.

“There's a difference between a company and an institution. We wanted to build something sustainable that creates lasting value for customers and society.” — Peyush Bansal
