Job Title : Senior Power BI & Python Automation Analyst

Role Purpose:

This role is primarily responsible for delivering enterprise-grade Power BI solutions, supported by Python-based automation and ETL workflows, with limited but value-adding use of applied data science and analytics techniques.The position focuses on transforming raw enterprise data into accurate, governed, and decision-ready insights, while significantly reducing manual reporting effort through automation.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Power BI & Reporting–(Primary Focus)

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports for management and business users.
• Build robust data models, relationships, and optimized DAX measures to deliver accurate KPIs and insights.
• Implement and manage Row-Level Security (RLS) for role-based data access.
• Automate dataset refreshes using SharePoint, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, SAP, and Excel data sources.
• Maintain data mappings, master data consistency, KPI definitions, and user-role mappings.
• Optimize report performance and ensure high data accuracy, reliability, and refresh stability.
• Ensure alignment with enterprise reporting standards and governance practices.

2. Database & Data Integration – (Shared Across BI & Python)

• Work extensively with SQL Server and PostgreSQL for data querying, transformations, inserts, updates, and migrations.
• Manage and support SAP to PostgreSQL / SQL Server data synchronization.
• Collaborate with internal teams on ETL workflows and data pipelines.
• Validate data completeness, reconciliation, and integrity across systems.

3. Python Automation – (Strong Secondary Focus)

1. Develop Python automation scripts for:
2. Data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL)
3. Processing data from PDFs, Excel files, SAP extracts
4. Bulk email automation and automated report distribution
5. Integrate Python scripts with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, APIs, and internal systems.
6. Convert Python scripts into executable (EXE) files for controlled end-user usage.
7. Implement basic logging, error handling, and scheduling to ensure reliable execution

• 4. Business & Stakeholder Support – (Cross-Cutting)

1. Work closely with sales, finance, and operations teams to understand reporting and automation needs.

2. Translate business requirements into technical dashboards and automation solutions.

3. Drive efficiency by reducing manual effort through automation and self-service reporting.

4. Provide documentation, training, and ongoing support for dashboards and automation tools.

6. 5. Applied Data Science & Analytics – (Value Add)

9. Outlier/anomaly checks

10. Simple forecasting logic where relevant.

11. Embed insights directly into Power BI dashboards (not standalone ML projects).

13. 4+ years of hands-on experience in Power BI development and reporting.

14. Strong expertise in DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling.

15. Advanced SQL skills with PostgreSQL and SQL Server.

16. Proficiency in Python for automation and ETL processes.

17. Experience working with SAP data sources in enterprise environments.

18. Strong understanding of data accuracy, performance optimization, and security.

19. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

20. Ability to work independently and manage multiple deliverables.

22. Preferred Qualification-

23. Experience with database design and data migrations.

24. Exposure to Python-based reporting automation and executable deployments.

25. Experience in Power BI and Familiarity with secondary BI tools.

26. Understanding of data governance and enterprise reporting standards.
