About the Company We are seeking a Network Engineer with hands-on SCADA and industrial comms expertise to design, deploy and maintain the full OT/IT network at our solar park. The role ensures uninterrupted, low-latency data flow between field devices (inverters, trackers, weather stations, meters, transformers, RMUs) and SCADA, EMS and plant performance systems, in line with IEC 61850, IEC 62443 and grid code/SLDC requirements. About the Role The Network Engineer will be responsible for the design, deployment, and maintenance of the OT/IT network at our solar park. This role requires expertise in SCADA and industrial communications to ensure seamless data flow between field devices and SCADA, EMS, and plant performance systems. Key Responsibilities Design, document and maintain the OT network: Process Bus, Station Bus, plant LAN and remote SCADA WAN links Segment OT, IT and corporate zones with VLANs, DMZs and firewalls per IEC 62443 and the Purdue model Standardize IP addressing, naming and asset registers across blocks, inverter stations and the substation Plan redundancy (HSR, PRP, RSTP, MRP) for ring/star fiber topologies to meet availability targets Commission field-to-SCADA/EMS communication over Modbus TCP/RTU (inverters, meters, weather stations, trackers), IEC 60870-5-104 (SLDC/RLDC telemetry), IEC 61850 MMS/GOOSE/SV (substation, relays), DNP3 (utility interface) and OPC UA/MQTT (historians, cloud analytics) Maintain the protocol mapping matrix (signal list, register map, IEC 61850 data model) for every device class Validate ICDs and test cases with inverter, SCADA, RTU, relay and tracker OEMs during FAT/SAT Troubleshoot stale tags, time-sync drift, register mismatches and packet loss (Wireshark, IEDScout, Modbus Poll) Commission and maintain managed industrial switches, media converters, fiber patch panels and RS-485 daisy chains up to SCB/SMB level Implement time sync (NTP, SNTP, PTP/IEEE 1588, IRIG-B) for protection and metering Ensure grounding, shielding and surge protection of outdoor comms cabling Maintain as-built network diagrams, cable schedules and port-mapping records Monitor network health via SNMP tools (PRTG, Zabbix, SolarWinds) and SCADA diagnostics; respond to alarms within SLA Lead root-cause analysis for outages affecting generation, dispatch or load despatch telemetry Maintain critical network spares to protect plant availability (PLF/CUF) Support O&M, electrical and SCADA teams in shutdowns, upgrades and grid-code audits Requirements Industrial/OT networking, preferably in renewable energy or utility plants Preferred Qualifications Commissioning utility-scale solar PV (≥ 50 MW) incl. SCADA, PPC and SLDC/RLDC integration PPC logic: active/reactive power setpoints, ramp rate, frequency response, voltage/Q control Certifications: CCNA/CCNP, GICSP, ISA/IEC 62443, or OEM (Hirschmann HAC, Moxa MTSE, Ruggedcom) Weather station, soiling sensor, pyranometer and tracker SCADA integration Basic scripting (Python, PowerShell or Bash) for automation and log parsing What We Offer Network availability ≥ 99.5% across all blocks and the SCADA-to-SLDC link MTTR for communication faults within SLA Zero data loss affecting grid telemetry, scheduling or commercial metering On-time device integration, firmware upgrades and protocol changes Grid and cybersecurity audit compliance Location & Work Mode Location: Solar Park Site (on-site; occasional travel to other portfolio sites) Work Mode: Full-time
