About Platformatory Platformatory is a forward-deployed engineering firm working on platforms, real-time data and AI. We design, deploy and operate mission-critical data infrastructure — Kafka, Flink, ClickHouse and Kubernetes among them — for enterprises across retail, banking, manufacturing and telecom, and we partner with Confluent, ClickHouse, Kong and Temporal. We also build our own products, because we believe consultants should have skin in the game. About the Role You will build and run the platforms our customers depend on. This is not a ticket-queue job: you will own reliability end to end — provisioning infrastructure, automating away toil, instrumenting what matters, and being the person who understands the system when it misbehaves at 2 a.m. Expect to work directly with customer engineering teams. Key Responsibilities Design, deploy and operate production Kubernetes across AWS and Azure. Build and maintain infrastructure as code in Terraform; treat infrastructure like software. Own CI/CD pipelines and release automation for platform and application workloads. Instrument systems for observability — metrics, logs, traces — and define meaningful SLOs and alerting. Participate in an on-call rotation; lead incident response, run blameless postmortems and close the loop with fixes. Harden platforms for security, availability, scale and cost efficiency. Automate repetitive operational work out of existence. Work alongside customer teams — explaining decisions and trade-offs as clearly as you implement them. Requirements Kubernetes — running and troubleshooting production clusters, not just deploying to them. Terraform — infrastructure as code, modules, state management. AWS and Azure — hands-on across both, not one at the expense of the other. Strong written and verbal communication — this is a client-facing engineering role. Preferred Qualifications Certifications: CKA / CKAD, AWS or Azure associate-level, HashiCorp Terraform Associate. Exposure to streaming and data infrastructure — Kafka, Flink, ClickHouse. Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry; GitOps with ArgoCD or Flux. Scripting or programming in Python, Go or Bash; solid Linux and networking fundamentals. Experience in a consulting, managed-services or customer-facing engineering setting.
