About the Company Geon is seeking an experienced High Voltage Battery Design Engineer to lead and support the design, development, validation, and integration of high-voltage lithium-ion battery systems for electric mobility and energy-storage applications. About the Role The ideal candidate will have more than 10 years of overall engineering experience, with a minimum of 3–4 years of hands-on experience in the design and development of high-voltage lithium-ion battery packs and related systems. The role requires strong knowledge of battery pack architecture, mechanical and electrical design, thermal management, safety, validation, and production readiness. Key Responsibilities Lead the design and development of high-voltage lithium-ion battery packs and systems. Develop battery pack architecture, module layouts, busbars, HV junction boxes, contactors, fuses, connectors, and service-disconnect systems. Prepare and review 2D drawings, 3D CAD models, design specifications, and engineering documentation. Perform electrical, mechanical, thermal, and structural design assessments for battery systems. Support the design and integration of Battery Management System components, current sensors, voltage sensing, insulation monitoring, and high-voltage interlock loops. Conduct battery sizing, energy and power calculations, voltage-level selection, and cell/module configuration studies. Ensure designs comply with relevant high-voltage battery safety, performance, reliability, and regulatory requirements. Work closely with BMS, electrical, controls, thermal, simulation, manufacturing, testing, and supplier teams. Support Design for Manufacturing, Design for Assembly, serviceability, and cost optimization activities. Develop and review DFMEA, PFMEA, risk assessments, fault-tree analyses, and technical safety documentation. Requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, Energy Systems, or a related discipline. 10+ years of total engineering experience. At least 3–4 years of hands-on experience in high-voltage lithium-ion battery design and development. Experience designing battery packs for electric vehicles, commercial vehicles, industrial equipment, energy storage, or similar applications. Strong understanding of lithium-ion battery cells, modules, pack architecture, and battery system performance. Practical knowledge of high-voltage systems, typically in the range of 400 V to 1000 V DC or equivalent. Experience with electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, cable routing, busbar design, grounding, insulation, creepage, and clearance requirements. Location & Work Mode Baner / Chakan - Pune, onsite.
