About the Company Cheema Boilers Limited is a leading engineering company engaged in the manufacture of power plant equipment, specifically boilers and air pollution control equipment. This position sits within the Proposal Team at the Head Office and is central to how the company wins work — the quality, accuracy and competitiveness of what leaves this desk directly determines the order book. About the Role The Proposal Engineer will be part of the Proposals & Estimation team, responsible for tender-to-bid ownership for boiler, Power Plant and air pollution control projects. Key Responsibilities Tender review, basic sizing of equipment and auxiliaries sizing, preparation of pre-bid clarifications and technical / commercial bid preparation Preparation of BOQ and cost estimation, and the performance guarantee schedule Timely submission of proposals, along with cost optimisation, standardisation and design development Preparation of technical specifications for bought-out items, and offer evaluation Preparation of P&ID, GA drawings, layout drawings, PFD, HMBD and related engineering documentation Technology selection based on customer specifications — across fuels and firing systems including spent wash, AFBC, travelling grate, reciprocating grate and RDF Development of standard calculation formats and worksheets for the proposals function Direct support to the marketing team on critical and non-critical projects, including attending technical meetings with customers To attend the Customer/consultant meeting on the Technical aspects of proposal. Requirements B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering Minimum 5–6 years’ experience in the boiler industry or a closely related power plant equipment industry Hands-on experience in proposals, estimation, tendering or bid engineering — not purely design or site execution Working knowledge of thermal sizing and heat and mass balance for boiler systems Ability to read and interpret customer specifications and translate them into a technically sound, commercially competitive offer Comfort preparing P&ID, GA, layout drawings, PFD and HMBD Preferred Qualifications M.Tech in Thermal Engineering or Performance Engineering Exposure to multiple firing technologies — AFBC, travelling grate, reciprocating grate, RDF, spent wash Experience preparing performance guarantee schedules Prior experience in a customer-facing technical role What We Offer Minimum ₹7.5 LPA, with the final offer depending on the candidate’s profile, qualification and depth of relevant experience Full-time, permanent employment Location & Work Mode Head Office, Chandigarh. Relocation is not offered for this position — candidates should be based in, or able to independently relocate to, the Chandigarh / Tricity region. Work from Office (full-time).
