Service Manager (Pharma Machinery)

About the Role We are seeking a high-caliber Service Manager to lead our after-sales and technical support division. You will be responsible for overseeing the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of specialized pharmaceutical machinery (e.g., Granulation, Tableting, Packing, or Liquid Filling lines). The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between technical execution and exceptional client relationship management. Key Responsibilities Service Operations: Lead a team of field service engineers to execute onsite installations, preventive maintenance, and emergency breakdowns. Compliance & Validation: Ensure all service activities adhere to cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) and support clients with IQ/OQ/PQ (Installation, Operation, and Performance Qualification) documentation. Technical Support: Act as the Tier 3 escalation point for complex mechanical, electrical, or software issues in the field. Revenue Growth: Drive the sale of Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs), spare parts, and machine upgrades/retrofitting. Training: Develop and deliver training programs for both internal engineers and client operators on machine safety and optimization. Reporting: Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as First-Time Fix Rate, Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), and Customer Satisfaction scores. Requirements Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering. Experience: 8–12 years in industrial machinery service, with at least 3+ years in the Pharmaceutical sector. Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of PLC automation, hydraulics, pneumatics, and precision mechanics. Regulatory: Familiarity with 21 CFR Part 11 and pharmaceutical validation protocols. Soft Skills: Strong negotiation skills, crisis management, and the ability to explain technical jargon to non-technical stakeholders.
