About the Role We seek an experienced Workshop Manager to oversee maintenance, repair, and servicing of Germany-made All Terrain Tyre Mounted Telescope Cranes and Crawler Cranes in Taloja, Maharashtra. The ideal candidate is a results-driven leader with strong coordination skills, managing a technical team and ensuring smooth operations. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily workshop operations, including scheduling, workflow planning, and resource allocation for crane maintenance and repair. Ensure timely, high-quality servicing, breakdown maintenance, and overhaul of cranes. Implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime. Monitor workshop costs, spare parts consumption, and labor productivity. Ensure compliance with OEM standards and safety norms. Lead, mentor, and manage a team of technicians, mechanics, and support staff. Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide technical guidance. Conduct regular team briefings and toolbox talks for safety awareness. Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and procurement teams. Diagnose complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and structural issues in cranes and supervise repairs. Interpret technical manuals, OEM service bulletins, and drawings. Liaise with OEM representatives and service engineers for technical support. Maintain accurate workshop job cards, service records, and maintenance history. Collaborate with the storekeeper to manage spare parts inventory, indenting, and stock levels. Monitor critical spare parts availability to avoid delays. Verify and approve spare parts requisitions and goods received notes. Implement and maintain an effective parts tagging and bin card system. Ensure all repairs and maintenance meet quality benchmarks and safety standards. Conduct regular workshop safety audits and enforce PPE compliance. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment. Prepare and submit weekly/monthly performance and maintenance reports to management. Requirements Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (ITI with extensive experience may also be considered). Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in the maintenance and repair of heavy construction equipment, specifically All Terrain Tyre Mounted Telescope Cranes and Crawler Cranes. Prior experience with Germany-make crane brands (such as Liebherr, Tadano Faun, Grove/Manitowoc, Terex Demag, or similar) is mandatory. Strong Communication, Team Leadership, Mechanical Engineering, Coordination, Statutory Compliance, Electrical systems, Mechanical Systems, Safety Practices, Workshop Management, Crane Hydraulics, Structural Components, ERP/CMMS, OEM Technical Manuals, and Storekeeper Functions skills. Preferred Qualifications Working knowledge of storekeeper functions including spare parts management, stock control, inventory records, and bin card systems. Familiarity with ERP/CMMS for maintenance tracking. Ability to read and interpret OEM technical manuals in English.
