About the Role The Tooling & Fixture Engineer is responsible for managing tooling activities, ensuring efficient tool management, and supporting production requirements while controlling costs. The role requires a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities Ensuring Tooling activities, including tool design, development, procurement, and maintenance. Ensure efficient tool management, including tool inventory, storage, and disposal. Estimate and control tooling costs, including material, labor, and overheads. Develop and manage tooling budgets, ensuring alignment with production requirements and cost targets. Have expertise in determining optimal cutting speeds and feed rates for various materials and tooling applications. Understand the impact of speed and feed on tool life, surface finish, and productivity. Ensure fixture design, development, procurement, and maintenance. Ensure fixture inventory is accurate and up to date. Insure with new product development fixture activities. Lead and supervise a team of tooling technicians and assistants. Provide training, guidance, and support to ensure team members meet performance expectations. Ensure tool maintenance, repair, and calibration to ensure optimal performance. Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules. Collaborate with production teams to identify and resolve tooling-related issues. Provide technical support to production teams on tooling-related matters. Ensure compliance with quality and safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies. Identify and report any quality or safety concerns. Requirements Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, experience in Manufacturing Tooling Management. Minimum 10 years of experience in tooling management or a related field. Strong technical knowledge of tooling systems and operations. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. Strong costing and budgeting skills, with experience in estimating and controlling costs.
