About the Role The role of Production Manager is to lead and manage end-to-end production operations, ensuring timely delivery, consistent quality, optimum utilisation of manpower and machinery, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities Ensure 90%+ achievement of OTIF (On-Time-In-Full) delivery targets through effective coordination with PPC, NPD, Quality, Stores, Maintenance, Dispatch, and other functions. Plan, organise, and monitor daily and monthly production activities to meet production targets, customer requirements, and delivery schedules. Ensure adherence to customer-specific quality requirements, production standards, SOPs, work instructions, and safety practices across the shop floor. Drive optimum utilisation of plant, machinery, manpower, and production capacity by improving machine loading, line balancing, scheduling, and working practices. Identify bottlenecks and production constraints and take timely corrective actions to minimise downtime, rejection, rework, and production losses. Drive productivity and efficiency improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, waste reduction, and process optimisation wherever applicable. Develop and implement cost-control initiatives covering manpower cost, overtime, material wastage, consumables, machine utilisation, productivity, and conversion costs. Coordinate with Maintenance to ensure preventive maintenance, breakdown reduction, machine reliability, and timely resolution of equipment-related issues. Monitor key production KPIs such as production achievement, OEE, productivity, rejection, rework, downtime, machine utilisation, wastage, OTIF, and conversion cost. Identify and resolve issues that may adversely impact delivery timelines, production targets, product quality, or customer requirements. Lead structured root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive action for recurring production and quality issues. Work closely with PPC and other cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution of production plans, new product introductions, product changes, and customer-specific requirements. Support and drive capacity expansion, process improvement, automation, machinery upgrades, and other capital projects aimed at improving productivity and operational efficiency. Build, develop, and retain a high-performing production team through effective manpower planning, training, performance management, goal setting, coaching, and mentoring. Establish clear accountability across production teams and ensure effective communication of targets, priorities, performance expectations, and operational issues. Conduct regular review meetings with production teams and provide timely MIS/reporting on production performance, productivity, quality, downtime, and efficiency metrics to management. Promote a culture of safety, quality, discipline, accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence on the shop floor. Ensure compliance with applicable company policies, statutory requirements, safety standards, and environmental practices. Requirements B.E./B.Tech. – Printing, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical qualification 12–18 Years of experience in production operations Strong hands-on experience in production operations, excellent shop-floor leadership skills, and a demonstrated track record of improving productivity, quality, delivery performance, and manufacturing costs. Comfort working in a fast-paced, target-driven manufacturing environment and possessing strong analytical, problem-solving, and people-management capabilities.
