About the Role The Manager / Senior Manager – Machining Costing is responsible for analyzing engineering drawings, GD&T, materials, and customer specifications. The role involves preparing accurate cost estimates for various CNC machining processes, calculating cycle times, machine hour rates, tooling, fixture, setup, and inspection costs. The incumbent will develop should-cost models, support RFQ techno-commercial quotations, define process routes, machine selection, tooling, and manufacturing feasibility. Additionally, the role requires conducting cost optimization through cycle time reduction, VA/VE, and localization initiatives, benchmarking supplier quotations, and evaluating make-versus-buy opportunities. The position involves coordinating with Production, Quality, Engineering, Tooling, and Sales teams. Key Responsibilities Analyze engineering drawings, GD&T, materials, and customer specifications. Prepare accurate cost estimates for CNC Turning, VMC, HMC, Grinding, Honing, and related machining processes. Calculate cycle times, machine hour rates, tooling, fixture, setup, and inspection costs. Develop should-cost models and support RFQ techno-commercial quotations. Define process routes, machine selection, tooling, and manufacturing feasibility. Conduct cost optimization through cycle time reduction, VA/VE, and localization initiatives. Benchmark supplier quotations and evaluate make-versus-buy opportunities. Coordinate with Production, Quality, Engineering, Tooling, and Sales teams. Requirements Diploma / BE Mechanical Engineering with ITI Machinist preferred. Minimum 20 years in CNC machining, process engineering, and machining costing. CNC machining expertise. Process planning skills. Cycle time estimation skills. Tooling costing knowledge. Machine hour rate calculation skills. RFQ costing experience. Should-cost analysis skills. Strong commercial acumen. Location & Work Mode The role is onsite.
