Overview:
Laxcon Steel Limited, a leader in the steel manufacturing sector, is seeking an experienced Head – Purchase / Procurement in Ahmedabad. This pivotal role will drive our procurement strategy, ensuring efficient and cost-effective acquisition of materials crucial for our operations.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategic procurement plans aligned with company goals.
• Lead and mentor the procurement team, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors, optimizing terms and conditions.
• Implement and manage SAP/ERP systems for procurement processes.
• Oversee inventory control and material requirements planning (MRP).
• Drive cost optimization initiatives through strategic sourcing and supplier rationalization.
• Mitigate supply risks, especially in global steel raw material markets.
• Ensure compliance with all procurement policies and regulations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand material needs and ensure timely supply.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 15-25 years of progressive experience in purchase/procurement, preferably in steel manufacturing.
• Proven expertise in Team Leadership, Contract Negotiation, and Vendor Management.
• Strong command of SAP/ERP systems.
• Demonstrated ability in Strategic Sourcing, Cost Optimization, and Inventory Control.
• Excellent Commercial acumen and understanding of Procurement Strategies.
• Knowledge of Steel Manufacturing Processes and Global Steel Raw Material Markets.
• Experience in Supply Risk Mitigation and Compliance Management.
